FEATURED EVENTS
A People By L.M. Feldman
A magical, lyrical journey into heritage, tradition, religion and humanity. Through vignettes, music and monologues, L.M. Feldman holds up a mirror to 4000 years of Jewish history, reminding us that we’re all descendants from somewhere, and we choose to embrace our lineage, deny it, or wrestle with it. Hilarious and terrifyingly honest, A People gathers a tight ensemble of performers, taking on a mass of old and new world personalities to create snippets of life the way we see it, the way we want it to be, and the way it is.
Gate B-23: Carry On Baggage By Debbie Slevin
“Flight 7051: Palm Beach-Newark… WEATHER DELAY! A divorcée, a lonely 20-something guy, a ditzy girl, a surly teen, his pissed-off Dad and a middle-aged lady and her dementia-addled mother who is plagued by pungent memories of the Jersey Turnpike, are stranded at the gate to wrestle with their ‘baggage’ and themselves. When the flight’s delayed, the tension takes off and there are missed connections, reconnections, disconnections, and new connections. It’s quite the journey for all the passengers.”
Songs of Paradise By Miriam Hoffman and Rena Berkowicz Borow
Lyrics: Itzik Manger Music: Rosalie Gerut
The Book of Genesis never sounded like this, with musical styles ranging from Operetta to Jazz, Rock to Rap and Broadway to Swing. Young and old alike can understand and enjoy this show. Adam and Eve sunbathing in the Garden of Eden, Cain and Abel nagging their mother and each other to death (literally), Abraham, his wife and his mistress all join in the fun. Jacob and Esau, Joseph and his dreams; this musical has been compared to the classic hit musical Godspell.
