A conversation with Tracie Holder and Karen Thorsen:

Co-Producers/Directors of the documentary film ‘Joe Papp in 5 Acts’ coming to PBS in 2022.

JOE PAPP IN 5 ACTS premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival and has been featured at more than forty film festivals worldwide.

Tracie Holder met Papp in her previous life as a fundraiser for progressive political candidates and was inspired to tell his story by the force of his personality and the ideals he fought for. Active in the filmmaking community in New York City, she has been a board member of New York Women in Film & Television and the Manhattan Neighborhood Network, a consultant for the PBS documentary series P.O.V., and a guest lecturer for film organizations and universities. Holder is currently pursuing a Masters’s degree at New York University’s Wagner School of Public Service.

Karen Thorsen: Producer/Writer/Director.

Award-winning writer/filmmaker Karen Thorsen finds inspiration at the intersection of art and social justice. A Vassar graduate, she was an editor for Simon & Schuster, a journalist for LIFE and a foreign correspondent for TIME. Screenwriting followed, then directing.
